My churchman’s thermostatic shower knob is loose and needs to be tightened up, how do I get the small “button” off the end, is it screwed on or needs to be prised off eiyth

If it’s the bath showers diverter lever handle. Then the cap is just push on. If they just place a craft knife, or something with a thin blade, it will easily push off.
