"You were right about the tap assembly. It came apart easily... But!!! the problem was straightforward. Someone fitted a tap washer too big. I had a hell of a job pulling out the valve stem so I shaved the edge, put it back, filled the system and it worked! Not brilliant but very much better and serviceable. The bathroom tap is by Bristan. I see its designed for a head of 2 mtrs. I measured 40" which is one meter so I'll set up a test with the 15mm stubs and see what happens. The internal bore of the feed pipe is 6mm and I reckon it will bore out to 7mm so that could make a difference.As for the lash up on the cylinder I may be able to walk away from that. If this is now resolved, you have my profound gratitude for your assistance... Edwin"
